In versions of helm prior to 3.6.1, a vulnerability exists where the username and password credentials associated with a Helm repository could be passed on to another domain referenced by that Helm repository. This issue has been resolved in 3.6.1. There is a workaround through which one may check for improperly passed credentials. One may use a username and password for a Helm repository and may audit the Helm repository in order to check for another domain being used that could have received the credentials. In the `index.yaml` file for that repository, one may look for another domain in the `urls` list for the chart versions. If there is another domain found and that chart version was pulled or installed, the credentials would be passed on.","state":"PUBLIC","assigner":"security-advisories@github.com","published_at":"2021-06-16 22:15:00","updated_at":"2022-10-25 15:16:00"},"problem_types":["NVD-CWE-Other"],"metrics":[],"references":[{"url":"https://github.com/helm/helm/security/advisories/GHSA-56hp-xqp3-w2jf","name":"https://github.com/helm/helm/security/advisories/GHSA-56hp-xqp3-w2jf","refsource":"CONFIRM","tags":[],"title":"Repository credentials passed to alternate domain · Advisory · helm/helm · GitHub","mime":"text/html","httpstatus":"200","archivestatus":"404"},{"url":"https://github.com/helm/helm/releases/tag/v3.6.1","name":"https://github.com/helm/helm/releases/tag/v3.6.1","refsource":"MISC","tags":[],"title":"Release Helm 3.6.1 · helm/helm · GitHub","mime":"text/html","httpstatus":"200","archivestatus":"404"},{"url":"https://www.cve.org/CVERecord?id=CVE-2021-32690","name":"CVE Program record","refsource":"CVE.ORG","tags":["canonical"]},{"url":"https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2021-32690","name":"NVD vulnerability detail","refsource":"NVD","tags":["canonical","analysis"]}],"affected":[],"timeline":[],"solutions":[],"workarounds":[],"exploits":[],"credits":[],"nvd_cpes":[{"cve_year":"2021","cve_id":"32690","vulnerable":"1","versionEndIncluding":"","cpe1":"cpe","cpe2":"2.3","cpe3":"a","cpe4":"helm","cpe5":"helm","cpe6":"*","cpe7":"*","cpe8":"*","cpe9":"*","cpe10":"*","cpe11":"*","cpe12":"*","cpe13":"*"}],"vendor_comments":[],"enrichments":{"kev":null,"epss":null,"legacy_qids":[{"cve":"CVE-2021-32690","qid":"375763","title":"Helm Chart Repository Vulnerability"},{"cve":"CVE-2021-32690","qid":"502869","title":"Alpine Linux Security Update for helm"},{"cve":"CVE-2021-32690","qid":"900351","title":"Common Base Linux Mariner (CBL-Mariner) Security Update for helm (5486)"},{"cve":"CVE-2021-32690","qid":"901392","title":"Common Base Linux Mariner (CBL-Mariner) Security Update for helm (6471-1)"},{"cve":"CVE-2021-32690","qid":"982061","title":"Go (go) Security Update for helm.sh/helm/v3 (GHSA-7jr6-prv4-5wf5)"}]},"source_records":{"cve_program":{"CVE_data_meta":{"ASSIGNER":"security-advisories@github.com","ID":"CVE-2021-32690","STATE":"PUBLIC","TITLE":"Repository credentials passed to alternate domain"},"affects":{"vendor":{"vendor_data":[{"product":{"product_data":[{"product_name":"helm","version":{"version_data":[{"version_value":"< 3.6.1"}]}}]},"vendor_name":"helm"}]}},"data_format":"MITRE","data_type":"CVE","data_version":"4.0","description":{"description_data":[{"lang":"eng","value":"Helm is a tool for managing Charts (packages of pre-configured Kubernetes resources).
