Nokia Single RAN commissioning procedures do not change (factory-time installed) default SSH public/private key values that are specific to a network operator. As a result, the CSP internal BTS network SSH server (disabled by default) continues to apply the default SSH public/private key values. These keys don't give access to BTS, because service user authentication is username/password-based on top of SSH. Nokia factory installed default SSH keys are meant to be changed from operator-specific values during the BTS deployment commissioning phase. However, before the 21B release, BTS commissioning manuals did not provide instructions to change default SSH keys (to BTS operator-specific values). This leads to a possibility for malicious operations staff (inside a CSP network) to attempt MITM exploitation of BTS service user access, during the moments that SSH is enabled for Nokia service personnel to perform troubleshooting activities.","state":"PUBLIC","assigner":"cve@mitre.org","published_at":"2023-06-16 20:15:00","updated_at":"2023-06-29 19:17:00"},"problem_types":["CWE-798"],"metrics":[],"references":[{"url":"https://www.nokia.com/about-us/security-and-privacy/product-security-advisory/cve-2023-25187/","name":"https://www.nokia.com/about-us/security-and-privacy/product-security-advisory/cve-2023-25187/","refsource":"MISC","tags":[],"title":"","mime":"","httpstatus":"-1","archivestatus":"404"},{"url":"https://Nokia.com","name":"https://Nokia.com","refsource":"MISC","tags":[],"title":"Nokia Corporation","mime":"text/html","httpstatus":"-1","archivestatus":"200"},{"url":"http://packetstormsecurity.com/files/173055/Nokia-ASIKA-7.13.52-Private-Key-Disclosure.html","name":"http://packetstormsecurity.com/files/173055/Nokia-ASIKA-7.13.52-Private-Key-Disclosure.html","refsource":"MISC","tags":[],"title":"Nokia ASIKA 7.13.52 Private Key Disclosure ≈ Packet Storm","mime":"text/html","httpstatus":"200","archivestatus":"502"},{"url":"https://www.cve.org/CVERecord?id=CVE-2023-25187","name":"CVE Program record","refsource":"CVE.ORG","tags":["canonical"]},{"url":"https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2023-25187","name":"NVD vulnerability detail","refsource":"NVD","tags":["canonical","analysis"]}],"affected":[],"timeline":[],"solutions":[],"workarounds":[],"exploits":[],"credits":[],"nvd_cpes":[{"cve_year":"2023","cve_id":"25187","vulnerable":"-1","versionEndIncluding":"","cpe1":"cpe","cpe2":"2.3","cpe3":"h","cpe4":"nokia","cpe5":"asika_airscale","cpe6":"-","cpe7":"*","cpe8":"*","cpe9":"*","cpe10":"*","cpe11":"*","cpe12":"*","cpe13":"*"},{"cve_year":"2023","cve_id":"25187","vulnerable":"1","versionEndIncluding":"","cpe1":"cpe","cpe2":"2.3","cpe3":"o","cpe4":"nokia","cpe5":"asika_airscale_firmware","cpe6":"19b","cpe7":"*","cpe8":"*","cpe9":"*","cpe10":"*","cpe11":"*","cpe12":"*","cpe13":"*"},{"cve_year":"2023","cve_id":"25187","vulnerable":"1","versionEndIncluding":"","cpe1":"cpe","cpe2":"2.3","cpe3":"o","cpe4":"nokia","cpe5":"asika_airscale_firmware","cpe6":"20a","cpe7":"*","cpe8":"*","cpe9":"*","cpe10":"*","cpe11":"*","cpe12":"*","cpe13":"*"},{"cve_year":"2023","cve_id":"25187","vulnerable":"1","versionEndIncluding":"","cpe1":"cpe","cpe2":"2.3","cpe3":"o","cpe4":"nokia","cpe5":"asika_airscale_firmware","cpe6":"20b","cpe7":"*","cpe8":"*","cpe9":"*","cpe10":"*","cpe11":"*","cpe12":"*","cpe13":"*"},{"cve_year":"2023","cve_id":"25187","vulnerable":"1","versionEndIncluding":"","cpe1":"cpe","cpe2":"2.3","cpe3":"o","cpe4":"nokia","cpe5":"asika_airscale_firmware","cpe6":"20c","cpe7":"*","cpe8":"*","cpe9":"*","cpe10":"*","cpe11":"*","cpe12":"*","cpe13":"*"},{"cve_year":"2023","cve_id":"25187","vulnerable":"1","versionEndIncluding":"","cpe1":"cpe","cpe2":"2.3","cpe3":"o","cpe4":"nokia","cpe5":"asika_airscale_firmware","cpe6":"21a","cpe7":"*","cpe8":"*","cpe9":"*","cpe10":"*","cpe11":"*","cpe12":"*","cpe13":"*"}],"vendor_comments":[],"enrichments":{"kev":null,"epss":null,"legacy_qids":[]},"source_records":{"cve_program":{"CVE_data_meta":{"ASSIGNER":"cve@mitre.org","ID":"CVE-2023-25187","STATE":"PUBLIC"},"affects":{"vendor":{"vendor_data":[{"product":{"product_data":[{"product_name":"n/a","version":{"version_data":[{"version_value":"n/a"}]}}]},"vendor_name":"n/a"}]}},"data_format":"MITRE","data_type":"CVE","data_version":"4.0","description":{"description_data":[{"lang":"eng","value":"An issue was discovered on NOKIA Airscale ASIKA Single RAN devices before 21B.
