The vulnerability exists because of a CSV escape-character mismatch between the exporter and the importer: class-csvwriter.php writes cells with fputcsv() using PHP's default backslash (\\) escape character, while class-csvreader.php parses the same file with fgetcsv() using a double-quote (\") as the escape character. As a result, a crafted value stored in a Subscriber's Biographical Info field — containing a backslash-quote sequence followed by a newline — is written as a single quoted CSV field but parsed back as two separate rows on import. The injected second row is then processed by hf_create_customer() as a new user record whose user_login, user_pass, user_email, and role are entirely attacker-controlled, allowing the creation of an arbitrary Administrator account. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers with Subscriber-level access and above to escalate their privileges to Administrator.","state":"PUBLISHED","assigner":"Wordfence","published_at":"2026-10-30 05:16:57","updated_at":"2026-10-30 05:16:57"},"problem_types":["CWE-116","CWE-116 CWE-116 Improper Encoding or Escaping of Output"],"metrics":[{"version":"3.1","source":"security@wordfence.com","type":"Primary","score":"8.8","severity":"HIGH","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H","data":{"version":"3.1","vectorString":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H","baseScore":8.8,"baseSeverity":"HIGH","attackVector":"NETWORK","attackComplexity":"LOW","privilegesRequired":"LOW","userInteraction":"NONE","scope":"UNCHANGED","confidentialityImpact":"HIGH","integrityImpact":"HIGH","availabilityImpact":"HIGH"}},{"version":"3.1","source":"CNA","type":"DECLARED","score":"8.8","severity":"HIGH","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H","data":{"baseScore":8.8,"baseSeverity":"HIGH","vectorString":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H","version":"3.1"}}],"references":[{"url":"https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/users-customers-import-export-for-wp-woocommerce/tags/2.7.5/admin/modules/user/import/import.php#L490","name":"https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/users-customers-import-export-for-wp-woocommerce/tags/2.7.5/admin/modules/user/import/import.php#L490","refsource":"security@wordfence.com","tags":[],"title":"","mime":"","httpstatus":"","archivestatus":"0"},{"url":"https://www.wordfence.com/threat-intel/vulnerabilities/id/4d358e43-f193-42fd-b49a-1b2a943183f2?source=cve","name":"https://www.wordfence.com/threat-intel/vulnerabilities/id/4d358e43-f193-42fd-b49a-1b2a943183f2?source=cve","refsource":"security@wordfence.com","tags":[],"title":"","mime":"","httpstatus":"","archivestatus":"0"},{"url":"https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/users-customers-import-export-for-wp-woocommerce/tags/2.7.5/admin/classes/class-csvreader.php#L197","name":"https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/users-customers-import-export-for-wp-woocommerce/tags/2.7.5/admin/classes/class-csvreader.php#L197","refsource":"security@wordfence.com","tags":[],"title":"","mime":"","httpstatus":"","archivestatus":"0"},{"url":"https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/changeset/3741112/users-customers-import-export-for-wp-woocommerce","name":"https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/changeset/3741112/users-customers-import-export-for-wp-woocommerce","refsource":"security@wordfence.com","tags":[],"title":"","mime":"","httpstatus":"","archivestatus":"0"},{"url":"https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/users-customers-import-export-for-wp-woocommerce/tags/2.7.5/admin/modules/user/export/export.php#L560","name":"https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/users-customers-import-export-for-wp-woocommerce/tags/2.7.5/admin/modules/user/export/export.php#L560","refsource":"security@wordfence.com","tags":[],"title":"","mime":"","httpstatus":"","archivestatus":"0"},{"url":"https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/users-customers-import-export-for-wp-woocommerce/tags/2.7.5/admin/classes/class-csvwriter.php#L154","name":"https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/users-customers-import-export-for-wp-woocommerce/tags/2.7.5/admin/classes/class-csvwriter.php#L154","refsource":"security@wordfence.com","tags":[],"title":"","mime":"","httpstatus":"","archivestatus":"0"},{"url":"https://www.cve.org/CVERecord?id=CVE-2026-104368","name":"CVE Program record","refsource":"CVE.ORG","tags":["canonical"]},{"url":"https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2026-104368","name":"NVD vulnerability detail","refsource":"NVD","tags":["canonical","analysis"]}],"affected":[{"source":"CNA","vendor":"webtoffee","product":"Export and Import Users and Customers","version":"affected 2.7.5 semver","platforms":[]}],"timeline":[{"source":"CNA","time":"2026-10-01T22:04:02.000Z","lang":"en","value":"Vendor Notified"},{"source":"CNA","time":"2026-10-29T16:03:50.000Z","lang":"en","value":"Disclosed"}],"solutions":[],"workarounds":[],"exploits":[],"credits":[{"source":"CNA","value":"Sebastian Albrecht (mySebbe)","lang":"en"}],"nvd_cpes":[],"vendor_comments":[],"enrichments":{"kev":null,"epss":null,"legacy_qids":[]},"source_records":{"cve_program":{"containers":{"cna":{"affected":[{"defaultStatus":"unaffected","product":"Export and Import Users and Customers","vendor":"webtoffee","versions":[{"lessThanOrEqual":"2.7.5","status":"affected","version":"0","versionType":"semver"}]}],"credits":[{"lang":"en","type":"finder","value":"Sebastian Albrecht (mySebbe)"}],"descriptions":[{"lang":"en","value":"The Export and Import Users and Customers plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Privilege Escalation in all versions up to, and including, 2.7.5 via the plugin's own export and re-import workflow.
