Keycloak is an open-source identity and access management solution used to secure modern applications and services. The issue occurs when an attacker who belongs to multiple organizations initiates a login and then switches to a registration or password reset path. During this process, a flag indicating a successful login is not properly cleared when the user is removed from the session. An attacker can then provide a victim's username, and the system incorrectly treats the stale flag as proof of the victim's identity. This allows the attacker to bypass authentication and gain full access to the victim's account and connected applications.","state":"PUBLISHED","assigner":"redhat","published_at":"2026-11-05 17:17:38","updated_at":"2026-11-05 17:17:38"},"problem_types":["CWE-305","CWE-305 Authentication Bypass by Primary Weakness"],"metrics":[{"version":"3.1","source":"secalert@redhat.com","type":"Primary","score":"8.1","severity":"HIGH","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:N","data":{"version":"3.1","vectorString":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:N","baseScore":8.1,"baseSeverity":"HIGH","attackVector":"NETWORK","attackComplexity":"LOW","privilegesRequired":"LOW","userInteraction":"NONE","scope":"UNCHANGED","confidentialityImpact":"HIGH","integrityImpact":"HIGH","availabilityImpact":"NONE"}},{"version":"3.1","source":"CNA","type":"CVSS","score":"8.1","severity":"HIGH","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:N","data":{"attackComplexity":"LOW","attackVector":"NETWORK","availabilityImpact":"NONE","baseScore":8.1,"baseSeverity":"HIGH","confidentialityImpact":"HIGH","integrityImpact":"HIGH","privilegesRequired":"LOW","scope":"UNCHANGED","userInteraction":"NONE","vectorString":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:N","version":"3.1"}}],"references":[{"url":"https://access.redhat.com/security/cve/CVE-2026-112208","name":"https://access.redhat.com/security/cve/CVE-2026-112208","refsource":"secalert@redhat.com","tags":[],"title":"","mime":"","httpstatus":"","archivestatus":"0"},{"url":"https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2555473","name":"https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2555473","refsource":"secalert@redhat.com","tags":[],"title":"","mime":"","httpstatus":"","archivestatus":"0"},{"url":"https://www.cve.org/CVERecord?id=CVE-2026-112208","name":"CVE Program record","refsource":"CVE.ORG","tags":["canonical"]},{"url":"https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2026-112208","name":"NVD vulnerability detail","refsource":"NVD","tags":["canonical","analysis"]}],"affected":[{"source":"CNA","vendor":"Red Hat","product":"Red Hat Build of Keycloak","version":"","platforms":[]},{"source":"CNA","vendor":"Red Hat","product":"Red Hat Build of Keycloak","version":"","platforms":[]},{"source":"CNA","vendor":"Red Hat","product":"Red Hat Single Sign-On 7","version":"","platforms":[]}],"timeline":[{"source":"CNA","time":"2026-10-16T14:58:44.000Z","lang":"en","value":"Reported to Red Hat."},{"source":"CNA","time":"2026-11-05T00:00:00.000Z","lang":"en","value":"Made public."}],"solutions":[],"workarounds":[{"source":"CNA","title":"","value":"Mitigation for this issue is either not available or the currently available options do not meet the Red Hat Product Security criteria comprising ease of use and deployment, applicability to widespread installation base, or stability.","time":"","lang":"en"}],"exploits":[],"credits":[{"source":"CNA","value":"Red Hat would like to thank LHeiakim for reporting this issue.","lang":"en"}],"nvd_cpes":[],"vendor_comments":[],"enrichments":{"kev":null,"epss":null,"legacy_qids":[]},"source_records":{"cve_program":{"containers":{"cna":{"affected":[{"collectionURL":"https://access.redhat.com/downloads/content/package-browser/","cpes":["cpe:/a:redhat:build_keycloak:"],"defaultStatus":"affected","packageName":"keycloak-services","product":"Red Hat Build of Keycloak","vendor":"Red Hat"},{"collectionURL":"https://access.redhat.com/downloads/content/package-browser/","cpes":["cpe:/a:redhat:build_keycloak:"],"defaultStatus":"affected","packageName":"rhbk/keycloak-rhel9","product":"Red Hat Build of Keycloak","vendor":"Red Hat"},{"collectionURL":"https://access.redhat.com/downloads/content/package-browser/","cpes":["cpe:/a:redhat:red_hat_single_sign_on:7"],"defaultStatus":"unaffected","packageName":"keycloak-services","product":"Red Hat Single Sign-On 7","vendor":"Red Hat"}],"credits":[{"lang":"en","value":"Red Hat would like to thank LHeiakim for reporting this issue."}],"datePublic":"2026-11-05T00:00:00.000Z","descriptions":[{"lang":"en","value":"A flaw was found in the Organization identity-first login flow of the Keycloak authentication server.
