From 8.2.0 until 13.0.0, Pillow's tiled-TIFF decoder can read past the tile buffer while copying four-byte pixels. In _decodeTile, libtiff can return a tile allocation smaller than the required row stride multiplied by the tile length, and Pillow's stride-and-copy loop walks beyond that allocation. An attacker can supply a crafted tiled TIFF to an application that loads it. This can expose adjacent heap data in pixels or crash the process. This issue is fixed in version 13.0.0.","state":"PUBLISHED","assigner":"GitHub_M","published_at":"2026-10-19 21:17:07","updated_at":"2026-10-19 21:17:07"},"problem_types":["CWE-122","CWE-122 CWE-122: Heap-based Buffer Overflow"],"metrics":[{"version":"3.1","source":"security-advisories@github.com","type":"Secondary","score":"6.5","severity":"MEDIUM","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:L/I:N/A:L","data":{"version":"3.1","vectorString":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:L/I:N/A:L","baseScore":6.5,"baseSeverity":"MEDIUM","attackVector":"NETWORK","attackComplexity":"LOW","privilegesRequired":"NONE","userInteraction":"NONE","scope":"UNCHANGED","confidentialityImpact":"LOW","integrityImpact":"NONE","availabilityImpact":"LOW"}},{"version":"3.1","source":"CNA","type":"DECLARED","score":"6.5","severity":"MEDIUM","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:L/I:N/A:L","data":{"attackComplexity":"LOW","attackVector":"NETWORK","availabilityImpact":"LOW","baseScore":6.5,"baseSeverity":"MEDIUM","confidentialityImpact":"LOW","integrityImpact":"NONE","privilegesRequired":"NONE","scope":"UNCHANGED","userInteraction":"NONE","vectorString":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:L/I:N/A:L","version":"3.1"}}],"references":[{"url":"https://github.com/python-pillow/Pillow/security/advisories/GHSA-462x-pgg6-55fp","name":"https://github.com/python-pillow/Pillow/security/advisories/GHSA-462x-pgg6-55fp","refsource":"security-advisories@github.com","tags":[],"title":"","mime":"","httpstatus":"","archivestatus":"0"},{"url":"https://github.com/python-pillow/Pillow/releases/tag/13.0.0","name":"https://github.com/python-pillow/Pillow/releases/tag/13.0.0","refsource":"security-advisories@github.com","tags":[],"title":"","mime":"","httpstatus":"","archivestatus":"0"},{"url":"https://github.com/python-pillow/Pillow/commit/76869efdbbf2ad7dccd7536520fb61b7a00ab61e","name":"https://github.com/python-pillow/Pillow/commit/76869efdbbf2ad7dccd7536520fb61b7a00ab61e","refsource":"security-advisories@github.com","tags":[],"title":"","mime":"","httpstatus":"","archivestatus":"0"},{"url":"https://www.cve.org/CVERecord?id=CVE-2026-112395","name":"CVE Program record","refsource":"CVE.ORG","tags":["canonical"]},{"url":"https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2026-112395","name":"NVD vulnerability detail","refsource":"NVD","tags":["canonical","analysis"]}],"affected":[{"source":"CNA","vendor":"python-pillow","product":"Pillow","version":"affected >= 8.2.0, < 13.0.0","platforms":[]}],"timeline":[],"solutions":[],"workarounds":[],"exploits":[],"credits":[],"nvd_cpes":[],"vendor_comments":[],"enrichments":{"kev":null,"epss":null,"legacy_qids":[]},"source_records":{"cve_program":{"containers":{"cna":{"affected":[{"product":"Pillow","vendor":"python-pillow","versions":[{"status":"affected","version":">= 8.2.0, < 13.0.0"}]}],"descriptions":[{"lang":"en","value":"Pillow is a Python imaging library.
