The vulnerability exists because `dologin\\s::rrand()` seeds the Mersenne Twister with `mt_srand((double) microtime() * 1000000)` — discarding the integer-seconds component of `microtime()` and constraining the seed to a range of approximately 10^6 values (~20 bits of entropy) — after which every character of the 32-character magic-link token is drawn sequentially with `mt_rand()`, making the entire token a deterministic function of that seed. Because `Pswdless::try_login()` is registered on the unauthenticated `init` hook, resolves the target account by the auto-increment numeric ID embedded in the `?dologin=<id>.<hash>` parameter, performs the hash comparison using a non-constant-time `!=` operator, and then calls `wp_set_auth_cookie()` directly — never passing through `wp_authenticate()` and therefore never triggering the plugin's own `Auth::_has_login_err()` lockout — an unauthenticated attacker can brute-force the ~10^6-candidate seed space to reconstruct an active passwordless login token and authenticate as any targeted user, including administrators, without a password. Exploitation requires that a valid, unexpired passwordless login link (active for up to 7 days) exists for the target account at the time of the attack, and that the numeric link ID is known or guessable from the auto-increment primary key.","state":"PUBLISHED","assigner":"Wordfence","published_at":"2026-07-08 06:16:22","updated_at":"2026-07-08 14:55:07"},"problem_types":["CWE-338","CWE-338 CWE-338 Use of Cryptographically Weak Pseudo-Random Number Generator (PRNG)"],"metrics":[{"version":"3.1","source":"security@wordfence.com","type":"Secondary","score":"8.8","severity":"HIGH","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H","data":{"version":"3.1","vectorString":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H","baseScore":8.8,"baseSeverity":"HIGH","attackVector":"NETWORK","attackComplexity":"LOW","privilegesRequired":"LOW","userInteraction":"NONE","scope":"UNCHANGED","confidentialityImpact":"HIGH","integrityImpact":"HIGH","availabilityImpact":"HIGH"}},{"version":"3.1","source":"CNA","type":"DECLARED","score":"8.8","severity":"HIGH","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H","data":{"baseScore":8.8,"baseSeverity":"HIGH","vectorString":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H","version":"3.1"}}],"references":[{"url":"https://www.wordfence.com/threat-intel/vulnerabilities/id/16bce371-b524-48eb-8537-3f9df802abd3?source=cve","name":"https://www.wordfence.com/threat-intel/vulnerabilities/id/16bce371-b524-48eb-8537-3f9df802abd3?source=cve","refsource":"security@wordfence.com","tags":[],"title":"","mime":"","httpstatus":"","archivestatus":"0"},{"url":"https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/dologin/tags/4.3/src/pswdless.cls.php#L197","name":"https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/dologin/tags/4.3/src/pswdless.cls.php#L197","refsource":"security@wordfence.com","tags":[],"title":"","mime":"","httpstatus":"","archivestatus":"0"},{"url":"https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/dologin/tags/4.3/src/s.cls.php#L240","name":"https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/dologin/tags/4.3/src/s.cls.php#L240","refsource":"security@wordfence.com","tags":[],"title":"","mime":"","httpstatus":"","archivestatus":"0"},{"url":"https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/dologin/tags/4.3/src/pswdless.cls.php#L27","name":"https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/dologin/tags/4.3/src/pswdless.cls.php#L27","refsource":"security@wordfence.com","tags":[],"title":"","mime":"","httpstatus":"","archivestatus":"0"},{"url":"https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/dologin/tags/4.3/src/pswdless.cls.php#L86","name":"https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/dologin/tags/4.3/src/pswdless.cls.php#L86","refsource":"security@wordfence.com","tags":[],"title":"","mime":"","httpstatus":"","archivestatus":"0"},{"url":"https://www.cve.org/CVERecord?id=CVE-2026-14495","name":"CVE Program record","refsource":"CVE.ORG","tags":["canonical"]},{"url":"https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2026-14495","name":"NVD vulnerability detail","refsource":"NVD","tags":["canonical","analysis"]}],"affected":[{"source":"CNA","vendor":"wpdo5ea","product":"DoLogin Security","version":"affected 4.3 semver","platforms":[]}],"timeline":[{"source":"CNA","time":"2026-07-07T16:39:40.000Z","lang":"en","value":"Disclosed"}],"solutions":[],"workarounds":[],"exploits":[],"credits":[{"source":"CNA","value":"samuel pages chartier","lang":"en"}],"nvd_cpes":[],"vendor_comments":[],"enrichments":{"kev":null,"epss":{"cve_year":"2026","cve_id":"14495","cve":"CVE-2026-14495","epss":"0.004250000","percentile":"0.343000000","score_date":"2026-07-09","updated_at":"2026-07-10 00:08:29"},"legacy_qids":[]},"source_records":{"cve_program":{"containers":{"adp":[{"metrics":[{"other":{"content":{"id":"CVE-2026-14495","options":[{"Exploitation":"none"},{"Automatable":"no"},{"Technical Impact":"total"}],"role":"CISA Coordinator","timestamp":"2026-07-08T12:43:37.967188Z","version":"2.0.3"},"type":"ssvc"}}],"providerMetadata":{"dateUpdated":"2026-07-08T12:44:30.272Z","orgId":"134c704f-9b21-4f2e-91b3-4a467353bcc0","shortName":"CISA-ADP"},"title":"CISA ADP Vulnrichment"}],"cna":{"affected":[{"defaultStatus":"unaffected","product":"DoLogin Security","vendor":"wpdo5ea","versions":[{"lessThanOrEqual":"4.3","status":"affected","version":"0","versionType":"semver"}]}],"credits":[{"lang":"en","type":"finder","value":"samuel pages chartier"}],"descriptions":[{"lang":"en","value":"The DoLogin Security plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Authentication Bypass via Insufficient Randomness in all versions up to, and including, 4.3.
