Prior to version 0.3.0, a vulnerability involving tool name collision and indirect prompt injection allows a malicious remote MCP server to hijack tool execution. By exploiting an ambiguous naming convention in the MCP client (mcp_{service}_{tool}), an attacker can register a malicious tool that overwrites a legitimate one (e.g., tavily_extract). This enables the attacker to redirect LLM execution flow, exfiltrate system prompts, context, and potentially execute other tools with the user's privileges. This issue has been patched in version 0.3.0.","state":"PUBLISHED","assigner":"GitHub_M","published_at":"2026-03-07 17:15:53","updated_at":"2026-04-13 14:43:36"},"problem_types":["CWE-706","CWE-706 CWE-706: Use of Incorrectly-Resolved Name or Reference"],"metrics":[{"version":"3.1","source":"nvd@nist.gov","type":"Primary","score":"7.6","severity":"HIGH","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:H/I:L/A:L","data":{"version":"3.1","vectorString":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:H/I:L/A:L","baseScore":7.6,"baseSeverity":"HIGH","attackVector":"NETWORK","attackComplexity":"LOW","privilegesRequired":"NONE","userInteraction":"REQUIRED","scope":"UNCHANGED","confidentialityImpact":"HIGH","integrityImpact":"LOW","availabilityImpact":"LOW"}},{"version":"3.1","source":"security-advisories@github.com","type":"Secondary","score":"5.9","severity":"MEDIUM","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:H/PR:L/UI:R/S:U/C:H/I:L/A:L","data":{"version":"3.1","vectorString":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:H/PR:L/UI:R/S:U/C:H/I:L/A:L","baseScore":5.9,"baseSeverity":"MEDIUM","attackVector":"NETWORK","attackComplexity":"HIGH","privilegesRequired":"LOW","userInteraction":"REQUIRED","scope":"UNCHANGED","confidentialityImpact":"HIGH","integrityImpact":"LOW","availabilityImpact":"LOW"}},{"version":"3.1","source":"CNA","type":"DECLARED","score":"5.9","severity":"MEDIUM","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:H/PR:L/UI:R/S:U/C:H/I:L/A:L","data":{"attackComplexity":"HIGH","attackVector":"NETWORK","availabilityImpact":"LOW","baseScore":5.9,"baseSeverity":"MEDIUM","confidentialityImpact":"HIGH","integrityImpact":"LOW","privilegesRequired":"LOW","scope":"UNCHANGED","userInteraction":"REQUIRED","vectorString":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:H/PR:L/UI:R/S:U/C:H/I:L/A:L","version":"3.1"}}],"references":[{"url":"https://github.com/Tencent/WeKnora/security/advisories/GHSA-67q9-58vj-32qx","name":"https://github.com/Tencent/WeKnora/security/advisories/GHSA-67q9-58vj-32qx","refsource":"security-advisories@github.com","tags":["Exploit","Vendor Advisory"],"title":"","mime":"","httpstatus":"","archivestatus":"0"},{"url":"https://www.cve.org/CVERecord?id=CVE-2026-30856","name":"CVE Program record","refsource":"CVE.ORG","tags":["canonical"]},{"url":"https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2026-30856","name":"NVD vulnerability detail","refsource":"NVD","tags":["canonical","analysis"]}],"affected":[{"source":"CNA","vendor":"Tencent","product":"WeKnora","version":"affected < 0.3.0","platforms":[]}],"timeline":[],"solutions":[],"workarounds":[],"exploits":[],"credits":[],"nvd_cpes":[{"cve_year":"2026","cve_id":"30856","vulnerable":"1","versionEndIncluding":"","cpe1":"cpe","cpe2":"2.3","cpe3":"a","cpe4":"tencent","cpe5":"weknora","cpe6":"*","cpe7":"*","cpe8":"*","cpe9":"*","cpe10":"*","cpe11":"*","cpe12":"*","cpe13":"*"}],"vendor_comments":[],"enrichments":{"kev":null,"epss":{"cve_year":"2026","cve_id":"30856","cve":"CVE-2026-30856","epss":"0.000210000","percentile":"0.055960000","score_date":"2026-04-15","updated_at":"2026-04-16 00:13:57"},"legacy_qids":[]},"source_records":{"cve_program":{"containers":{"adp":[{"metrics":[{"other":{"content":{"id":"CVE-2026-30856","options":[{"Exploitation":"poc"},{"Automatable":"no"},{"Technical Impact":"partial"}],"role":"CISA Coordinator","timestamp":"2026-03-09T17:52:22.657564Z","version":"2.0.3"},"type":"ssvc"}}],"providerMetadata":{"dateUpdated":"2026-03-09T18:24:32.877Z","orgId":"134c704f-9b21-4f2e-91b3-4a467353bcc0","shortName":"CISA-ADP"},"title":"CISA ADP Vulnrichment"}],"cna":{"affected":[{"product":"WeKnora","vendor":"Tencent","versions":[{"status":"affected","version":"< 0.3.0"}]}],"descriptions":[{"lang":"en","value":"WeKnora is an LLM-powered framework designed for deep document understanding and semantic retrieval.
