Prior to version 1.3.0, `HistoryTreeProof::verify` panics on a malformed proof where `history.len() != positions.len()` due to `assert_eq!(history.len(), positions.len())`. The proof object is derived from untrusted p2p responses (`ResponseTransactionsProof.proof`) and is therefore attacker-controlled at the network boundary until validated. A malicious peer could trigger a crash by returning a crafted inclusion proof with a length mismatch. The patch for this vulnerability is included as part of v1.3.0. No known workarounds are available.","state":"PUBLISHED","assigner":"GitHub_M","published_at":"2026-04-22 21:17:07","updated_at":"2026-04-22 21:23:52"},"problem_types":["CWE-617","CWE-617 CWE-617: Reachable Assertion"],"metrics":[{"version":"3.1","source":"security-advisories@github.com","type":"Secondary","score":"3.1","severity":"LOW","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:H/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:L","data":{"version":"3.1","vectorString":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:H/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:L","baseScore":3.1,"baseSeverity":"LOW","attackVector":"NETWORK","attackComplexity":"HIGH","privilegesRequired":"NONE","userInteraction":"REQUIRED","scope":"UNCHANGED","confidentialityImpact":"NONE","integrityImpact":"NONE","availabilityImpact":"LOW"}},{"version":"3.1","source":"CNA","type":"DECLARED","score":"3.1","severity":"LOW","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:H/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:L","data":{"attackComplexity":"HIGH","attackVector":"NETWORK","availabilityImpact":"LOW","baseScore":3.1,"baseSeverity":"LOW","confidentialityImpact":"NONE","integrityImpact":"NONE","privilegesRequired":"NONE","scope":"UNCHANGED","userInteraction":"REQUIRED","vectorString":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:H/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:L","version":"3.1"}}],"references":[{"url":"https://github.com/nimiq/core-rs-albatross/pull/3659","name":"https://github.com/nimiq/core-rs-albatross/pull/3659","refsource":"security-advisories@github.com","tags":[],"title":"","mime":"","httpstatus":"","archivestatus":"0"},{"url":"https://github.com/nimiq/core-rs-albatross/security/advisories/GHSA-264v-m8fm-76jm","name":"https://github.com/nimiq/core-rs-albatross/security/advisories/GHSA-264v-m8fm-76jm","refsource":"security-advisories@github.com","tags":[],"title":"","mime":"","httpstatus":"","archivestatus":"0"},{"url":"https://github.com/nimiq/core-rs-albatross/releases/tag/v1.3.0","name":"https://github.com/nimiq/core-rs-albatross/releases/tag/v1.3.0","refsource":"security-advisories@github.com","tags":[],"title":"","mime":"","httpstatus":"","archivestatus":"0"},{"url":"https://github.com/nimiq/core-rs-albatross/commit/6ff0800e8e031363e787c827d8d033e5694e4e6a","name":"https://github.com/nimiq/core-rs-albatross/commit/6ff0800e8e031363e787c827d8d033e5694e4e6a","refsource":"security-advisories@github.com","tags":[],"title":"","mime":"","httpstatus":"","archivestatus":"0"},{"url":"https://www.cve.org/CVERecord?id=CVE-2026-34067","name":"CVE Program record","refsource":"CVE.ORG","tags":["canonical"]},{"url":"https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2026-34067","name":"NVD vulnerability detail","refsource":"NVD","tags":["canonical","analysis"]}],"affected":[{"source":"CNA","vendor":"nimiq","product":"nimiq-transaction","version":"affected < 1.3.0","platforms":[]}],"timeline":[],"solutions":[],"workarounds":[],"exploits":[],"credits":[],"nvd_cpes":[],"vendor_comments":[],"enrichments":{"kev":null,"epss":null,"legacy_qids":[]},"source_records":{"cve_program":{"containers":{"cna":{"affected":[{"product":"nimiq-transaction","vendor":"nimiq","versions":[{"status":"affected","version":"< 1.3.0"}]}],"descriptions":[{"lang":"en","value":"nimiq-transaction provides the transaction primitive to be used in Nimiq's Rust implementation.
