Prior to 7.1.0, a stored cross-site scripting vulnerability exists in PersonView.php due to incorrect use of sanitizeText() as an output sanitizer for HTML attribute context. The function only strips HTML tags, it does not escape quote characters allowing an attacker to break out of the href attribute and inject arbitrary JavaScript event handlers. Any authenticated user with the EditRecords role can store the payload in a person's Facebook field. The XSS fires against any user who views that person's profile page, including administrators, enabling session hijacking and full account takeover. This vulnerability is fixed in 7.1.0.","state":"PUBLISHED","assigner":"GitHub_M","published_at":"2026-04-07 16:16:29","updated_at":"2026-04-09 17:16:25"},"problem_types":["CWE-79","CWE-87","CWE-116","CWE-79 CWE-79: Improper Neutralization of Input During Web Page Generation ('Cross-site Scripting')","CWE-87 CWE-87: Improper Neutralization of Alternate XSS Syntax","CWE-116 CWE-116: Improper Encoding or Escaping of Output"],"metrics":[{"version":"3.1","source":"security-advisories@github.com","type":"Secondary","score":"7.6","severity":"HIGH","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:R/S:C/C:H/I:L/A:N","data":{"version":"3.1","vectorString":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:R/S:C/C:H/I:L/A:N","baseScore":7.6,"baseSeverity":"HIGH","attackVector":"NETWORK","attackComplexity":"LOW","privilegesRequired":"LOW","userInteraction":"REQUIRED","scope":"CHANGED","confidentialityImpact":"HIGH","integrityImpact":"LOW","availabilityImpact":"NONE"}},{"version":"3.1","source":"CNA","type":"DECLARED","score":"7.6","severity":"HIGH","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:R/S:C/C:H/I:L/A:N","data":{"attackComplexity":"LOW","attackVector":"NETWORK","availabilityImpact":"NONE","baseScore":7.6,"baseSeverity":"HIGH","confidentialityImpact":"HIGH","integrityImpact":"LOW","privilegesRequired":"LOW","scope":"CHANGED","userInteraction":"REQUIRED","vectorString":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:R/S:C/C:H/I:L/A:N","version":"3.1"}}],"references":[{"url":"https://github.com/ChurchCRM/CRM/security/advisories/GHSA-pqp6-54p2-m66f","name":"https://github.com/ChurchCRM/CRM/security/advisories/GHSA-pqp6-54p2-m66f","refsource":"134c704f-9b21-4f2e-91b3-4a467353bcc0","tags":[],"title":"","mime":"","httpstatus":"","archivestatus":"0"},{"url":"https://www.cve.org/CVERecord?id=CVE-2026-35534","name":"CVE Program record","refsource":"CVE.ORG","tags":["canonical"]},{"url":"https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2026-35534","name":"NVD vulnerability detail","refsource":"NVD","tags":["canonical","analysis"]}],"affected":[{"source":"CNA","vendor":"ChurchCRM","product":"CRM","version":"affected < 7.1.0","platforms":[]}],"timeline":[],"solutions":[],"workarounds":[],"exploits":[],"credits":[],"nvd_cpes":[],"vendor_comments":[],"enrichments":{"kev":null,"epss":{"cve_year":"2026","cve_id":"35534","cve":"CVE-2026-35534","epss":"0.000320000","percentile":"0.093190000","score_date":"2026-04-08","updated_at":"2026-04-09 00:05:08"},"legacy_qids":[]},"source_records":{"cve_program":{"containers":{"adp":[{"metrics":[{"other":{"content":{"id":"CVE-2026-35534","options":[{"Exploitation":"poc"},{"Automatable":"no"},{"Technical Impact":"partial"}],"role":"CISA Coordinator","timestamp":"2026-04-09T16:14:42.587276Z","version":"2.0.3"},"type":"ssvc"}}],"providerMetadata":{"dateUpdated":"2026-04-09T16:19:01.737Z","orgId":"134c704f-9b21-4f2e-91b3-4a467353bcc0","shortName":"CISA-ADP"},"references":[{"tags":["exploit"],"url":"https://github.com/ChurchCRM/CRM/security/advisories/GHSA-pqp6-54p2-m66f"}],"title":"CISA ADP Vulnrichment"}],"cna":{"affected":[{"product":"CRM","vendor":"ChurchCRM","versions":[{"status":"affected","version":"< 7.1.0"}]}],"descriptions":[{"lang":"en","value":"ChurchCRM is an open-source church management system.
