Starting in version 3.9.0 and prior to version 4.11.0, the RSA-OAEP decryption implementation in the NXP CAAM crypto driver uses non-constant-time `memcmp()` for label hash verification and has multiple distinguishable error paths. This creates a Manger-style padding oracle that allows an attacker to recover RSA-OAEP plaintext with approximately 1000-2000 adaptive chosen ciphertext queries. Version 4.11.0 contains a patch. As a workaround, disable the NXP CAAM RSA driver with `CFG_CRYPTO_DRV_RSA=n`.","state":"PUBLISHED","assigner":"GitHub_M","published_at":"2026-07-06 20:16:32","updated_at":"2026-07-07 15:16:45"},"problem_types":["CWE-208","CWE-208 CWE-208: Observable Timing Discrepancy"],"metrics":[{"version":"3.1","source":"security-advisories@github.com","type":"Secondary","score":"2.5","severity":"LOW","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:L/AC:H/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:L/I:N/A:N","data":{"version":"3.1","vectorString":"CVSS:3.1/AV:L/AC:H/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:L/I:N/A:N","baseScore":2.5,"baseSeverity":"LOW","attackVector":"LOCAL","attackComplexity":"HIGH","privilegesRequired":"LOW","userInteraction":"NONE","scope":"UNCHANGED","confidentialityImpact":"LOW","integrityImpact":"NONE","availabilityImpact":"NONE"}},{"version":"3.1","source":"CNA","type":"DECLARED","score":"2.5","severity":"LOW","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:L/AC:H/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:L/I:N/A:N","data":{"attackComplexity":"HIGH","attackVector":"LOCAL","availabilityImpact":"NONE","baseScore":2.5,"baseSeverity":"LOW","confidentialityImpact":"LOW","integrityImpact":"NONE","privilegesRequired":"LOW","scope":"UNCHANGED","userInteraction":"NONE","vectorString":"CVSS:3.1/AV:L/AC:H/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:L/I:N/A:N","version":"3.1"}}],"references":[{"url":"https://github.com/OP-TEE/optee_os/security/advisories/GHSA-5q45-58r5-cq4g","name":"https://github.com/OP-TEE/optee_os/security/advisories/GHSA-5q45-58r5-cq4g","refsource":"security-advisories@github.com","tags":[],"title":"","mime":"","httpstatus":"","archivestatus":"0"},{"url":"https://www.cve.org/CVERecord?id=CVE-2026-41515","name":"CVE Program record","refsource":"CVE.ORG","tags":["canonical"]},{"url":"https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2026-41515","name":"NVD vulnerability detail","refsource":"NVD","tags":["canonical","analysis"]}],"affected":[{"source":"CNA","vendor":"OP-TEE","product":"optee_os","version":"affected >= 3.9.0, < 4.11.0","platforms":[]}],"timeline":[],"solutions":[],"workarounds":[],"exploits":[],"credits":[],"nvd_cpes":[],"vendor_comments":[],"enrichments":{"kev":null,"epss":null,"legacy_qids":[]},"source_records":{"cve_program":{"containers":{"adp":[{"metrics":[{"other":{"content":{"id":"CVE-2026-41515","options":[{"Exploitation":"none"},{"Automatable":"no"},{"Technical Impact":"partial"}],"role":"CISA Coordinator","timestamp":"2026-07-07T14:09:21.542493Z","version":"2.0.3"},"type":"ssvc"}}],"providerMetadata":{"dateUpdated":"2026-07-07T14:09:30.230Z","orgId":"134c704f-9b21-4f2e-91b3-4a467353bcc0","shortName":"CISA-ADP"},"title":"CISA ADP Vulnrichment"}],"cna":{"affected":[{"product":"optee_os","vendor":"OP-TEE","versions":[{"status":"affected","version":">= 3.9.0, < 4.11.0"}]}],"descriptions":[{"lang":"en","value":"OP-TEE is a Trusted Execution Environment (TEE) designed as companion to a non-secure Linux kernel running on Arm; Cortex-A cores using the TrustZone technology.
