In versions prior to 1.5.0, the email update functionality fails to invalidate the existing verification state when a user changes their email address, allowing a verified account to retain its verified status after switching to an unverified or unowned email address. When a user updated their email address, the system did not reset or revalidate the associated email verification status. As a result, the verification column remained set to “true” even after the email address was changed. Exploitation could potentially result in: misrepresentation of email ownership, bypass of verification-based trust assumptions, and abuse of features gated behind verified status. No direct unauthorized access to other users accounts or data is possible through this issue alone. This issue has been fixed in version 1.5.0.","state":"PUBLISHED","assigner":"GitHub_M","published_at":"2026-07-20 21:16:47","updated_at":"2026-07-20 22:17:14"},"problem_types":["CWE-345","CWE-345 CWE-345: Insufficient Verification of Data Authenticity"],"metrics":[{"version":"3.1","source":"security-advisories@github.com","type":"Secondary","score":"4.3","severity":"MEDIUM","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:L/A:N","data":{"version":"3.1","vectorString":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:L/A:N","baseScore":4.3,"baseSeverity":"MEDIUM","attackVector":"NETWORK","attackComplexity":"LOW","privilegesRequired":"LOW","userInteraction":"NONE","scope":"UNCHANGED","confidentialityImpact":"NONE","integrityImpact":"LOW","availabilityImpact":"NONE"}},{"version":"3.1","source":"CNA","type":"DECLARED","score":"4.3","severity":"MEDIUM","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:L/A:N","data":{"attackComplexity":"LOW","attackVector":"NETWORK","availabilityImpact":"NONE","baseScore":4.3,"baseSeverity":"MEDIUM","confidentialityImpact":"NONE","integrityImpact":"LOW","privilegesRequired":"LOW","scope":"UNCHANGED","userInteraction":"NONE","vectorString":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:L/A:N","version":"3.1"}}],"references":[{"url":"https://github.com/Paymenter/Paymenter/security/advisories/GHSA-rv89-wch8-c574","name":"https://github.com/Paymenter/Paymenter/security/advisories/GHSA-rv89-wch8-c574","refsource":"security-advisories@github.com","tags":[],"title":"","mime":"","httpstatus":"","archivestatus":"0"},{"url":"https://www.cve.org/CVERecord?id=CVE-2026-44584","name":"CVE Program record","refsource":"CVE.ORG","tags":["canonical"]},{"url":"https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2026-44584","name":"NVD vulnerability detail","refsource":"NVD","tags":["canonical","analysis"]}],"affected":[{"source":"CNA","vendor":"Paymenter","product":"Paymenter","version":"affected < 1.5.0","platforms":[]}],"timeline":[],"solutions":[],"workarounds":[],"exploits":[],"credits":[],"nvd_cpes":[],"vendor_comments":[],"enrichments":{"kev":null,"epss":null,"legacy_qids":[]},"source_records":{"cve_program":{"containers":{"adp":[{"metrics":[{"other":{"content":{"id":"CVE-2026-44584","options":[{"Exploitation":"none"},{"Automatable":"no"},{"Technical Impact":"partial"}],"role":"CISA Coordinator","timestamp":"2026-07-20T21:44:11.404629Z","version":"2.0.3"},"type":"ssvc"}}],"providerMetadata":{"dateUpdated":"2026-07-20T21:44:18.192Z","orgId":"134c704f-9b21-4f2e-91b3-4a467353bcc0","shortName":"CISA-ADP"},"title":"CISA ADP Vulnrichment"}],"cna":{"affected":[{"product":"Paymenter","vendor":"Paymenter","versions":[{"status":"affected","version":"< 1.5.0"}]}],"descriptions":[{"lang":"en","value":"Paymenter is a free and open-source webshop solution for management of hosting services.
