In versions 0.11.0 through 0.26.0, a logic error in the `client-kubernetes-secret` Keycloak client authenticator (shipped by `uds-identity-config` and consumed by UDS Core) causes the submitted `client_secret` to be overwritten with the mounted Kubernetes secret before comparison. An attacker who can reach the Keycloak token endpoint and knows a `client_id` using this authenticator can authenticate as that client with any `client_secret` value and obtain OAuth2 tokens scoped to the client's service account. In the case of the `uds-operator` client this token can be used to registry/modify other clients. Version 0.26.1 patches the issue.","state":"PUBLISHED","assigner":"GitHub_M","published_at":"2026-06-05 19:16:32","updated_at":"2026-06-05 19:21:22"},"problem_types":["CWE-287","CWE-303","CWE-287 CWE-287: Improper Authentication","CWE-303 CWE-303: Incorrect Implementation of Authentication Algorithm"],"metrics":[{"version":"3.1","source":"security-advisories@github.com","type":"Secondary","score":"10","severity":"CRITICAL","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:C/C:H/I:H/A:H","data":{"version":"3.1","vectorString":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:C/C:H/I:H/A:H","baseScore":10,"baseSeverity":"CRITICAL","attackVector":"NETWORK","attackComplexity":"LOW","privilegesRequired":"NONE","userInteraction":"NONE","scope":"CHANGED","confidentialityImpact":"HIGH","integrityImpact":"HIGH","availabilityImpact":"HIGH"}},{"version":"3.1","source":"CNA","type":"DECLARED","score":"10","severity":"CRITICAL","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:C/C:H/I:H/A:H","data":{"attackComplexity":"LOW","attackVector":"NETWORK","availabilityImpact":"HIGH","baseScore":10,"baseSeverity":"CRITICAL","confidentialityImpact":"HIGH","integrityImpact":"HIGH","privilegesRequired":"NONE","scope":"CHANGED","userInteraction":"NONE","vectorString":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:C/C:H/I:H/A:H","version":"3.1"}}],"references":[{"url":"https://github.com/defenseunicorns/uds-identity-config/security/advisories/GHSA-8mg2-6588-r4hw","name":"https://github.com/defenseunicorns/uds-identity-config/security/advisories/GHSA-8mg2-6588-r4hw","refsource":"security-advisories@github.com","tags":[],"title":"","mime":"","httpstatus":"","archivestatus":"0"},{"url":"https://github.com/defenseunicorns/uds-identity-config/releases/tag/v0.26.1","name":"https://github.com/defenseunicorns/uds-identity-config/releases/tag/v0.26.1","refsource":"security-advisories@github.com","tags":[],"title":"","mime":"","httpstatus":"","archivestatus":"0"},{"url":"https://www.cve.org/CVERecord?id=CVE-2026-46389","name":"CVE Program record","refsource":"CVE.ORG","tags":["canonical"]},{"url":"https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2026-46389","name":"NVD vulnerability detail","refsource":"NVD","tags":["canonical","analysis"]}],"affected":[{"source":"CNA","vendor":"defenseunicorns","product":"uds-identity-config","version":"affected >= 0.11.0, < 0.26.1","platforms":[]}],"timeline":[],"solutions":[],"workarounds":[],"exploits":[],"credits":[],"nvd_cpes":[],"vendor_comments":[],"enrichments":{"kev":null,"epss":{"cve_year":"2026","cve_id":"46389","cve":"CVE-2026-46389","epss":"0.000410000","percentile":"0.128840000","score_date":"2026-06-09","updated_at":"2026-06-10 00:13:17"},"legacy_qids":[]},"source_records":{"cve_program":{"containers":{"cna":{"affected":[{"product":"uds-identity-config","vendor":"defenseunicorns","versions":[{"status":"affected","version":">= 0.11.0, < 0.26.1"}]}],"descriptions":[{"lang":"en","value":"UDS Identity Config builds the Keycloak configuration image (realm, plugins, theme, truststore, JARs) consumed by UDS Core's Identity deployment.
