Prior to 4.5.5, the Glances XML-RPC server (glances -s) introduced a configurable CORS origin list in version 4.5.3 as a mitigation for CVE-2026-33533. However, the implementation silently falls back to Access-Control-Allow-Origin: * whenever cors_origins contains more than one entry. An operator who configures an explicit two-entry allowlist (e.g. two internal dashboard origins) intending to restrict browser access instead receives the unrestricted wildcard. A malicious web page served from any origin can issue a CORS simple request to /RPC2 and read the full system monitoring dataset without the victim's knowledge. This vulnerability is fixed in 4.5.5.","state":"PUBLISHED","assigner":"GitHub_M","published_at":"2026-06-25 19:16:37","updated_at":"2026-06-25 19:58:30"},"problem_types":["CWE-183","CWE-942","CWE-183 CWE-183: Permissive List of Allowed Inputs","CWE-942 CWE-942: Permissive Cross-domain Policy with Untrusted Domains"],"metrics":[{"version":"3.1","source":"security-advisories@github.com","type":"Secondary","score":"7.4","severity":"HIGH","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:C/C:H/I:N/A:N","data":{"version":"3.1","vectorString":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:C/C:H/I:N/A:N","baseScore":7.4,"baseSeverity":"HIGH","attackVector":"NETWORK","attackComplexity":"LOW","privilegesRequired":"NONE","userInteraction":"REQUIRED","scope":"CHANGED","confidentialityImpact":"HIGH","integrityImpact":"NONE","availabilityImpact":"NONE"}},{"version":"3.1","source":"CNA","type":"DECLARED","score":"7.4","severity":"HIGH","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:C/C:H/I:N/A:N","data":{"attackComplexity":"LOW","attackVector":"NETWORK","availabilityImpact":"NONE","baseScore":7.4,"baseSeverity":"HIGH","confidentialityImpact":"HIGH","integrityImpact":"NONE","privilegesRequired":"NONE","scope":"CHANGED","userInteraction":"REQUIRED","vectorString":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:C/C:H/I:N/A:N","version":"3.1"}}],"references":[{"url":"https://github.com/nicolargo/glances/releases/tag/v4.5.5","name":"https://github.com/nicolargo/glances/releases/tag/v4.5.5","refsource":"security-advisories@github.com","tags":[],"title":"","mime":"","httpstatus":"","archivestatus":"0"},{"url":"https://github.com/nicolargo/glances/security/advisories/GHSA-87qc-fj39-wccr","name":"https://github.com/nicolargo/glances/security/advisories/GHSA-87qc-fj39-wccr","refsource":"security-advisories@github.com","tags":[],"title":"","mime":"","httpstatus":"","archivestatus":"0"},{"url":"https://www.cve.org/CVERecord?id=CVE-2026-46608","name":"CVE Program record","refsource":"CVE.ORG","tags":["canonical"]},{"url":"https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2026-46608","name":"NVD vulnerability detail","refsource":"NVD","tags":["canonical","analysis"]}],"affected":[{"source":"CNA","vendor":"nicolargo","product":"glances","version":"affected < 4.5.5","platforms":[]}],"timeline":[],"solutions":[],"workarounds":[],"exploits":[],"credits":[],"nvd_cpes":[],"vendor_comments":[],"enrichments":{"kev":null,"epss":null,"legacy_qids":[]},"source_records":{"cve_program":{"containers":{"cna":{"affected":[{"product":"glances","vendor":"nicolargo","versions":[{"status":"affected","version":"< 4.5.5"}]}],"descriptions":[{"lang":"en","value":"Glances is an open-source system cross-platform monitoring tool.
