Prior to 10.11.10, a potential FFmpeg argument injection vulnerability exists in the subtitle conversion code path. SubtitleEncoder.ConvertTextSubtitleToSrtInternal (SubtitleEncoder.cs, line 382) interpolates the subtitle file path into FFmpeg command-line arguments without calling EncodingUtils.NormalizePath(). On Linux, filenames can contain double-quote characters, which break the argument quoting and allow injection of arbitrary FFmpeg arguments. The vulnerability is reachable without authentication via SubtitleController.GetSubtitle, which has no [Authorize] attribute. An attacker who can place a file in a Jellyfin media library directory (shared NAS, Samba share, guest upload) can achieve arbitrary file write on the server and information disclosure. This vulnerability is fixed in 10.11.10.","state":"PUBLISHED","assigner":"GitHub_M","published_at":"2026-06-24 19:17:10","updated_at":"2026-06-26 05:16:28"},"problem_types":["CWE-88","CWE-88 CWE-88: Improper Neutralization of Argument Delimiters in a Command ('Argument Injection')"],"metrics":[{"version":"3.1","source":"security-advisories@github.com","type":"Secondary","score":"8.8","severity":"HIGH","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H","data":{"version":"3.1","vectorString":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H","baseScore":8.8,"baseSeverity":"HIGH","attackVector":"NETWORK","attackComplexity":"LOW","privilegesRequired":"LOW","userInteraction":"NONE","scope":"UNCHANGED","confidentialityImpact":"HIGH","integrityImpact":"HIGH","availabilityImpact":"HIGH"}},{"version":"3.1","source":"CNA","type":"DECLARED","score":"8.8","severity":"HIGH","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H","data":{"attackComplexity":"LOW","attackVector":"NETWORK","availabilityImpact":"HIGH","baseScore":8.8,"baseSeverity":"HIGH","confidentialityImpact":"HIGH","integrityImpact":"HIGH","privilegesRequired":"LOW","scope":"UNCHANGED","userInteraction":"NONE","vectorString":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H","version":"3.1"}}],"references":[{"url":"https://github.com/jellyfin/jellyfin/security/advisories/GHSA-wwwm-px48-fpvq","name":"https://github.com/jellyfin/jellyfin/security/advisories/GHSA-wwwm-px48-fpvq","refsource":"security-advisories@github.com","tags":[],"title":"","mime":"","httpstatus":"","archivestatus":"0"},{"url":"https://www.cve.org/CVERecord?id=CVE-2026-48793","name":"CVE Program record","refsource":"CVE.ORG","tags":["canonical"]},{"url":"https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2026-48793","name":"NVD vulnerability detail","refsource":"NVD","tags":["canonical","analysis"]}],"affected":[{"source":"CNA","vendor":"jellyfin","product":"jellyfin","version":"affected < 10.11.10","platforms":[]}],"timeline":[],"solutions":[],"workarounds":[],"exploits":[],"credits":[],"nvd_cpes":[],"vendor_comments":[],"enrichments":{"kev":null,"epss":{"cve_year":"2026","cve_id":"48793","cve":"CVE-2026-48793","epss":"0.003570000","percentile":"0.276840000","score_date":"2026-06-27","updated_at":"2026-06-28 00:08:50"},"legacy_qids":[]},"source_records":{"cve_program":{"containers":{"adp":[{"metrics":[{"other":{"content":{"id":"CVE-2026-48793","options":[{"Exploitation":"none"},{"Automatable":"no"},{"Technical Impact":"total"}],"role":"CISA Coordinator","timestamp":"2026-06-25T00:00:00+00:00","version":"2.0.3"},"type":"ssvc"}}],"providerMetadata":{"dateUpdated":"2026-06-26T03:56:00.432Z","orgId":"134c704f-9b21-4f2e-91b3-4a467353bcc0","shortName":"CISA-ADP"},"title":"CISA ADP Vulnrichment"}],"cna":{"affected":[{"product":"jellyfin","vendor":"jellyfin","versions":[{"status":"affected","version":"< 10.11.10"}]}],"descriptions":[{"lang":"en","value":"Jellyfin is an open source self hosted media server.
