From version 2.5.0 until version 2.6.0, the wyzie-open-redeem IPC handler in index.js creates the partition:wyzie-redeem Electron session and registers an onHeadersReceived hook that removes the Content-Security-Policy header from every response in that session. The redeem window also lacks a setWindowOpenHandler restriction, so script injection in sub.wyzie.io, a loaded third-party resource, or a site reached through navigation executes without CSP constraints and can affect additional windows and persistent session storage. A user must open the Wyzie API key redemption window, and exploitation requires attacker-controlled script content in a loaded page. The resulting renderer script can invoke renderer-exposed application functionality and can be chained with other vulnerabilities to access internal services or sensitive data. This issue is fixed in version 2.6.0.","state":"PUBLISHED","assigner":"GitHub_M","published_at":"2026-08-18 22:16:53","updated_at":"2026-08-21 20:16:36"},"problem_types":["CWE-79","CWE-693","CWE-79 CWE-79: Improper Neutralization of Input During Web Page Generation ('Cross-site Scripting')","CWE-693 CWE-693: Protection Mechanism Failure"],"metrics":[{"version":"3.1","source":"security-advisories@github.com","type":"Secondary","score":"6.9","severity":"MEDIUM","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:H/PR:N/UI:R/S:C/C:H/I:L/A:N","data":{"version":"3.1","vectorString":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:H/PR:N/UI:R/S:C/C:H/I:L/A:N","baseScore":6.9,"baseSeverity":"MEDIUM","attackVector":"NETWORK","attackComplexity":"HIGH","privilegesRequired":"NONE","userInteraction":"REQUIRED","scope":"CHANGED","confidentialityImpact":"HIGH","integrityImpact":"LOW","availabilityImpact":"NONE"}},{"version":"3.1","source":"CNA","type":"DECLARED","score":"6.9","severity":"MEDIUM","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:H/PR:N/UI:R/S:C/C:H/I:L/A:N","data":{"attackComplexity":"HIGH","attackVector":"NETWORK","availabilityImpact":"NONE","baseScore":6.9,"baseSeverity":"MEDIUM","confidentialityImpact":"HIGH","integrityImpact":"LOW","privilegesRequired":"NONE","scope":"CHANGED","userInteraction":"REQUIRED","vectorString":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:H/PR:N/UI:R/S:C/C:H/I:L/A:N","version":"3.1"}}],"references":[{"url":"https://github.com/truelockmc/streambert/releases/tag/2.6.0","name":"https://github.com/truelockmc/streambert/releases/tag/2.6.0","refsource":"security-advisories@github.com","tags":[],"title":"","mime":"","httpstatus":"","archivestatus":"0"},{"url":"https://github.com/truelockmc/streambert/pull/126","name":"https://github.com/truelockmc/streambert/pull/126","refsource":"security-advisories@github.com","tags":[],"title":"","mime":"","httpstatus":"","archivestatus":"0"},{"url":"https://github.com/truelockmc/streambert/security/advisories/GHSA-2j2q-qvpf-wh43","name":"https://github.com/truelockmc/streambert/security/advisories/GHSA-2j2q-qvpf-wh43","refsource":"134c704f-9b21-4f2e-91b3-4a467353bcc0","tags":[],"title":"","mime":"","httpstatus":"","archivestatus":"0"},{"url":"https://github.com/truelockmc/streambert/commit/0bd6b6ca8c830f22f75de1aa2e0d8b9bdf6d34c7","name":"https://github.com/truelockmc/streambert/commit/0bd6b6ca8c830f22f75de1aa2e0d8b9bdf6d34c7","refsource":"security-advisories@github.com","tags":[],"title":"","mime":"","httpstatus":"","archivestatus":"0"},{"url":"https://www.cve.org/CVERecord?id=CVE-2026-52873","name":"CVE Program record","refsource":"CVE.ORG","tags":["canonical"]},{"url":"https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2026-52873","name":"NVD vulnerability detail","refsource":"NVD","tags":["canonical","analysis"]}],"affected":[{"source":"CNA","vendor":"truelockmc","product":"streambert","version":"affected < 2.6.0","platforms":[]}],"timeline":[],"solutions":[],"workarounds":[],"exploits":[],"credits":[],"nvd_cpes":[],"vendor_comments":[],"enrichments":{"kev":null,"epss":{"cve_year":"2026","cve_id":"52873","cve":"CVE-2026-52873","epss":"0.002780000","percentile":"0.203990000","score_date":"2026-08-19","updated_at":"2026-08-20 00:13:10"},"legacy_qids":[]},"source_records":{"cve_program":{"containers":{"adp":[{"metrics":[{"other":{"content":{"id":"CVE-2026-52873","options":[{"Exploitation":"poc"},{"Automatable":"no"},{"Technical Impact":"partial"}],"role":"CISA Coordinator","timestamp":"2026-08-21T19:17:53.917334Z","version":"2.0.3"},"type":"ssvc"}}],"providerMetadata":{"dateUpdated":"2026-08-21T19:18:23.077Z","orgId":"134c704f-9b21-4f2e-91b3-4a467353bcc0","shortName":"CISA-ADP"},"references":[{"tags":["exploit"],"url":"https://github.com/truelockmc/streambert/security/advisories/GHSA-2j2q-qvpf-wh43"}],"title":"CISA ADP Vulnrichment"}],"cna":{"affected":[{"product":"streambert","vendor":"truelockmc","versions":[{"status":"affected","version":"< 2.6.0"}]}],"descriptions":[{"lang":"en","value":"Streambert is a cross-platform Electron Desktop App to stream and download video content.
