In versions 0.2.247 and prior, two authentication helpers in /app/server.js — verifyContainerAuth() and authenticateWorkspaceHttp() — accept the global CONTAINER_SHARED_SECRET as a bearer token without verifying which workspace the caller belongs to. Because that secret is set identically on every container in the Fly app and is reachable from the user-facing process environment inside each workspace, any tenant can use it to authenticate to any other tenant's workspace API. The result is cross-workspace read, write, and destructive-restore primitives reachable from any paying customer's shell. The existing per-workspace token check (workspaceTokenMatches) protects the user-facing per-workspace token path, but the shared-secret bearer path bypasses it entirely. At time of publication, there are no publicly known patches.","state":"PUBLISHED","assigner":"GitHub_M","published_at":"2026-09-30 17:16:46","updated_at":"2026-10-02 17:17:06"},"problem_types":["CWE-863","CWE-863 CWE-863: Incorrect Authorization"],"metrics":[{"version":"3.1","source":"security-advisories@github.com","type":"Secondary","score":"9","severity":"CRITICAL","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:A/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:C/C:H/I:H/A:H","data":{"version":"3.1","vectorString":"CVSS:3.1/AV:A/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:C/C:H/I:H/A:H","baseScore":9,"baseSeverity":"CRITICAL","attackVector":"ADJACENT_NETWORK","attackComplexity":"LOW","privilegesRequired":"LOW","userInteraction":"NONE","scope":"CHANGED","confidentialityImpact":"HIGH","integrityImpact":"HIGH","availabilityImpact":"HIGH"}},{"version":"3.1","source":"CNA","type":"DECLARED","score":"9","severity":"CRITICAL","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:A/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:C/C:H/I:H/A:H","data":{"attackComplexity":"LOW","attackVector":"ADJACENT_NETWORK","availabilityImpact":"HIGH","baseScore":9,"baseSeverity":"CRITICAL","confidentialityImpact":"HIGH","integrityImpact":"HIGH","privilegesRequired":"LOW","scope":"CHANGED","userInteraction":"NONE","vectorString":"CVSS:3.1/AV:A/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:C/C:H/I:H/A:H","version":"3.1"}}],"references":[{"url":"https://github.com/Soft-Machine-io/security/security/advisories/GHSA-63gh-vp9f-vxhj","name":"https://github.com/Soft-Machine-io/security/security/advisories/GHSA-63gh-vp9f-vxhj","refsource":"134c704f-9b21-4f2e-91b3-4a467353bcc0","tags":[],"title":"","mime":"","httpstatus":"","archivestatus":"0"},{"url":"https://www.cve.org/CVERecord?id=CVE-2026-55176","name":"CVE Program record","refsource":"CVE.ORG","tags":["canonical"]},{"url":"https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2026-55176","name":"NVD vulnerability detail","refsource":"NVD","tags":["canonical","analysis"]}],"affected":[{"source":"CNA","vendor":"Soft-Machine-io","product":"security","version":"affected <= 0.2.247","platforms":[]}],"timeline":[],"solutions":[],"workarounds":[],"exploits":[],"credits":[],"nvd_cpes":[],"vendor_comments":[],"enrichments":{"kev":null,"epss":{"cve_year":"2026","cve_id":"55176","cve":"CVE-2026-55176","epss":"0.003170000","percentile":"0.223380000","score_date":"2026-10-01","updated_at":"2026-10-02 00:12:55"},"legacy_qids":[]},"source_records":{"cve_program":{"containers":{"adp":[{"metrics":[{"other":{"content":{"id":"CVE-2026-55176","options":[{"Exploitation":"poc"},{"Automatable":"no"},{"Technical Impact":"total"}],"role":"CISA Coordinator","timestamp":"2026-10-02T16:22:21.804846Z","version":"2.0.3"},"type":"ssvc"}}],"providerMetadata":{"dateUpdated":"2026-10-02T16:22:50.416Z","orgId":"134c704f-9b21-4f2e-91b3-4a467353bcc0","shortName":"CISA-ADP"},"references":[{"tags":["exploit"],"url":"https://github.com/Soft-Machine-io/security/security/advisories/GHSA-63gh-vp9f-vxhj"}],"title":"CISA ADP Vulnrichment"}],"cna":{"affected":[{"product":"security","vendor":"Soft-Machine-io","versions":[{"status":"affected","version":"<= 0.2.247"}]}],"descriptions":[{"lang":"en","value":"Soft Machine is a Virtual Machine–based agentic development environment / Cloud OS.
