Discussion

Apple SwiftNIO CVE-2018-4281 Buffer Overflow Vulnerability

Apple SwiftNIO is prone to a buffer-overflow vulnerability because they fail to adequately bounds-check user-supplied data before copying it to an insufficiently sized memory buffer.

Attackers can exploit this issue to execute arbitrary code in the context of the affected application. Failed exploit attempts will result in denial-of-service conditions.

Versions prior to SwiftNIO 1.8.0 are vulnerable.
