Discussion

Linux Kernel Bluetooth Signed Buffer Index Vulnerability

A local signed-buffer-index vulnerability affects the Linux kernel because it fails to securely handle signed values when validating memory indexes.

A local attacker may leverage this issue to gain escalated privileges on an affected computer.

Exploit / POC

Linux Kernel Bluetooth Signed Buffer Index Vulnerability

A proof of concept (kernelBluetoothSocketPoC.c) from Kevin Finisterre <[email protected]> has been made available. An additional proof of concept (ong_bak.c) is also available.

Exploit code (ong_bak.c) has been updated; ong_bak_0.9.c is functional against more platforms.
