Sun Solaris's ATOK12 is susceptible to an unspecified buffer overflow vulnerability. This issue is due to a failure of the application to properly bounds check user-supplied data prior to copying it to an insufficiently-sized memory buffer.

It is unknown if this vulnerability may be exploited via local, or remote means, or to what extent it may allow for controlling the flow of execution of the affected application.

This may present a security issue if the program is installed setuid/setgid or if the vulnerability is related to processing of untrusted input.
