Discussion
@Mail IMG tag HTML Injection Vulnerability
@Mail is prone to an HTML-injection vulnerability. This issue is due to a failure in the application to properly sanitize email messages containing HTML image tags before using them in dynamically generated content.
Attacker-supplied HTML and script code would be executed in the context of the affected site, potentially allowing for the theft of cookie-based authentication credentials. An attacker could also exploit this issue to control how the site is rendered to the user; other attacks are also possible.
Successful exploitation of this issue requires a victim user has @Mail configured to display images in email messages.
Version 4.3 is vulnerable; other versions may also be affected.
