Discussion

Red Hat Linux Inetd Daytime Denial of Service Vulnerability

Version of inetd shipped with RedHat Linux 6.2 improperly handles the closing of sockets created in handling requests to inetd's daytime service.

As a result, new connections to daytime cause affected versions of inetd to leak resources over time.
