Discussion
Joomla! and Mambo joomlaXplorer Component Multiple Input Validation Vulnerabilities
The Joomla! and Mambo joomlaXplorer component is prone to a cross-site scripting issue and a directory-traversal issue because the application fails to properly sanitize user-supplied input.
Attackers can exploit these issues to execute arbitrary script code in the browser of an unsuspecting user in the context of an affected site, steal cookie-based authentication credentials, or download arbitrary files; information harvested could aid in further attacks.
joomlaXplorer 1.6.0 is vulnerable; other versions may also be affected.
