Apple Mac OS X Data Detectors Engine Denial Of Service Vulnerability

Apple Mac OS X is prone to a denial-of-service vulnerability that affects the Data Detectors Engine.

Attackers can exploit this issue to cause denial-of-service conditions in applications using Data Detectors.

The following versions are affected:

Mac OS X v10.5.4 and prior
Mac OS X Server v10.5.4 and prior

This issue does not affect systems prior to Mac OS X v10.5.

NOTE: This issue was previously covered in BID 30483 (Apple Mac OS X 2008-005 Multiple Security Vulnerabilities) but has been given its own record to better document the vulnerability.
