Discussion

D-Link MPEG4 Viewer ActiveX Control Multiple Heap Buffer Overflow Vulnerabilities

D-Link MPEG4 Viewer ActiveX control is prone to multiple heap-based buffer-overflow vulnerabilities because the application fails to perform adequate boundary checks on user-supplied data.

Successful exploits allow remote attackers to execute arbitrary code in the context of the application using the ActiveX control (typically Internet Explorer). Failed exploit attempts likely result in denial-of-service conditions.

MPEG4 Viewer 2.11.918.2006 is vulnerable; other versions may also be affected.
