Xvid Video Codec DirectShow Initialization Logic Heap Buffer Overflow Vulnerability

The Xvid video codec is prone to a heap-based buffer-overflow vulnerability because the software fails to properly handle error conditions.

An attacker can exploit this issue to execute arbitrary within the context of an application using the affected codec. Failed exploit attempts will result in a denial-of-service vulnerability.

Versions prior to Xvid 1.2.2 are vulnerable.
