Discussion

PHP Versions Prior to 5.3.1 Multiple Vulnerabilities

PHP is prone to multiple security vulnerabilities.

For some of these issues, attackers may be able to bypass security restrictions and create arbitrary files or cause denial-of-service conditions. The impact of the remaining issues is unspecified. We will update this BID when more information emerges.

These issues affect PHP 5.3 prior to PHP 5.3.1; some issues also affect PHP 5.2 prior to 5.2.12.

UPDATE (December 7, 2009): Information regarding the vulnerability affecting 'posix_mkfifo()' (CVE-2009-3558) has been removed from this BID and is now documented in BID 36554 (PHP 'posix_mkfifo()' 'open_basedir' Restriction Bypass Vulnerability).
