Discussion

GForge 'helpname' Parameter Cross Site Scripting Vulnerability

GForge is prone to a cross-site scripting vulnerability because the application fails to properly sanitize user-supplied input before using it in dynamically generated content.

An attacker may leverage this issue to execute arbitrary script code in the browser of an unsuspecting user in the context of the affected site. This may allow the attacker to steal cookie-based authentication credentials and to launch other attacks.

GForge 4.5.14 and 4.7rc2 are affected; other versions may be affected as well.
