The Google Desktop Gadget ActiveX control is prone to a security vulnerability.

Attackers may exploit this issue by enticing an unsuspecting victim to view a malicious webpage.

The attacker can exploit this issue to execute arbitrary code in the context of the application using the ActiveX control (typically Internet Explorer). Failed attacks will likely cause denial-of-service conditions.

Google Desktop Gadget 5.8 is vulnerable; other versions may also be affected.
