Discussion

Mozilla Firefox/Thunderbird/SeaMonkey Multiple Cross Domain Scripting Vulnerabilities

Mozilla Firefox, Thunderbird, and SeaMonkey are prone to multiple cross-domain scripting vulnerabilities.

An attacker can exploit these vulnerabilities to bypass the same-origin policy and obtain potentially sensitive information or to launch spoofing attacks against other sites. In Firefox 3.6, attacks may be limited to capturing keystroke events from a cross-origin source. Other attacks are also possible.

These issues affect the following:

Firefox prior to 3.6.2, 3.5.8, and 3.0.18
Thunderbird prior to 3.0.2
SeaMonkey prior to 2.0.3

NOTE: This issue was previously covered in BID 38918 (Mozilla Firefox Thunderbird and Seamonkey MFSA 2010-09 through -15 Multiple Vulnerabilities) but has been assigned its own record to better document it.
