Apple Mac OS X iChat Inline Image Transfer Directory Traversal Vulnerability

Apple Mac OS X iChat is prone to a directory-traversal vulnerability because the application fails to sufficiently sanitize user-supplied data.

An attacker may leverage this issue to upload files on the affected computer. This may lead to arbitrary code-execution or allow an attacker to gain access to sensitive information.

NOTE: This issue was previously covered in BID 40871 (Apple Mac OS X Prior to 10.6.4 Multiple Security Vulnerabilities), but has been given its own record to better document it.
