Discussion

KeyWorks Software KeyHelp ActiveX Controls Multiple Buffer Overflow Vulnerabilities

KeyHelp is prone to multiple buffer-overflow vulnerabilities because the application fails to adequately check boundaries on user-supplied input to certain ActiveX controls.

An attacker can exploit these issues to execute arbitrary code in the context of the application, typically Internet Explorer, using one of the ActiveX controls. Failed attacks will likely cause denial-of-service conditions.

Please note that these issues were reported in AnNoText ADVOAkte 17 Build 4.8.0.116 Patchlevel 034 which ships with the vulnerable ActiveX controls.
