Apple iPhone/iPod touch Prior to iOS 4 JPEG File Buffer Overflow Vulnerability
Apple iOS for iPhone and iPod touch is prone to a buffer-overflow vulnerability because it fails to perform adequate boundary checks on user-supplied data.
Attackers may leverage this issue to execute arbitrary code in the context of the application. Failed attacks will cause denial-of-service conditions.
Versions prior to iOS 4 are vulnerable.
NOTE: This issue was previously covered in BID 41016 (Apple iPhone/iPod touch Prior to iOS 4 Multiple Vulnerabilities) but has been given its own record to better document it.
