Discussion

OpenOffice Impress File Multiple Buffer Overflow Vulnerabilities

OpenOffice is prone to multiple remote buffer-overflow vulnerabilities because of errors when processing certain files.

Remote attackers can exploit these issues by enticing an unsuspecting user into opening maliciously crafted PPT files.

Successful exploits will allow attackers to execute arbitrary code within the context of the affected application. Failed exploit attempts will likely result in a denial of service.

OpenOffice 3.2.1 is vulnerable; other versions may also be affected.
