Discussion
XMLTooling-C URI Handling Remote Buffer Overflow Vulnerability
XMLTooling-C is prone to a remote buffer-overflow vulnerability because it fails to perform adequate boundary checks on user-supplied input before copying it to an insufficiently sized buffer.
Attackers can exploit this issue to execute arbitrary code in the context of an application that uses the affected library. Failed exploit attempts will result in a denial-of-service condition.
Versions prior to XMLTooling-C 1.2.2 are vulnerable.
