Discussion
FreeBSD Berkeley DB Remote Denial of Service Vulnerability
FreeBSD Berkeley DB is prone to a remote denial-of-service vulnerability because it fails to properly handle a specially crafted '.login_config.db' file.
Successful exploits may allow remote attackers to crash the applications that use the affected library, resulting in denial-of-service conditions. Given the nature of this issue, attackers may also be able to run arbitrary code; this has not been confirmed.
FreeBSD Berkeley DB 1.85 is vulnerable; other versions may also be affected.
