Discussion

WebChess Multiple SQL Injection and Cross Site Scripting Vulnerabilities

WebChess is prone to multiple SQL-injection vulnerabilities and multiple cross-site scripting vulnerabilities because it fails to sufficiently sanitize user-supplied data.

Exploiting these vulnerabilities could allow an attacker to steal cookie-based authentication credentials, compromise the application, access or modify data, or exploit latent vulnerabilities in the underlying database.

WebChess 0.9.0 is vulnerable; other versions may also be affected.

Exploit / POC

Attackers can use a browser to exploit these issues. To exploit the cross-site scripting issues, an attacker must entice an unsuspecting user into following a malicious URI.
