Discussion

WellinTech KingView 'KVWebSvr.dll' ActiveX Control Heap Buffer Overflow Vulnerability

WellinTech KingView ActiveX control is prone to a heap-based buffer-overflow vulnerability because it fails to perform adequate boundary checks on user-supplied input.

An attacker can exploit this issue to execute arbitrary code in the context of the application, typically Internet Explorer, that uses the ActiveX control. Failed attacks will likely cause denial-of-service conditions.

KingView 6.53 is vulnerable; other versions may also be affected.
