ActFax Server 'USER' Command Remote Buffer Overflow Vulnerability

ActFax is prone to a buffer-overflow vulnerability.

An attacker can exploit this issue to execute arbitrary code within the context of the affected application. Failed exploit attempts will result in a denial-of-service condition.

ActFax versions 4.27 and prior are vulnerable.

NOTE: This issue may be related to the issues discussed in BID 46412 (ActFax Server Multiple Remote Buffer Overflow Vulnerabilities).
