Discussion
Provideo ActiveX Controls Multiple Buffer Overflow Vulnerabilities
Provideo ActiveX controls are prone to multiple buffer-overflow vulnerabilities because the application fails to perform adequate boundary checks on user-supplied input.
Attackers may exploit these issues to execute arbitrary code in the context of the application using the ActiveX control (typically Internet Explorer). Failed exploit attempts will likely result in denial-of-service conditions.
The following ActiveX controls are vulnerable:
Alarm ActiveX Control 1.0.3.1.
GMAXPlayer ActiveX Control 2.0.8.2.
PAxPlayer ActiveX Control 3.0.0.9.
Other versions may also be affected.
