Discussion

Apple Mac OS X FLIC Files CVE-2011-3223 Buffer Overflow Vulnerability

Apple Mac OS X is prone to a buffer-overflow vulnerability that affects QuickTime Player.

Attackers can exploit this issue to execute arbitrary code in the context of the affected application. Failed attacks will cause denial-of-service conditions.

Versions prior to Mac OS X 10.7.2 are vulnerable.

NOTE: This issue was previously discussed in BID 50085 (Apple Mac OS X Prior to 10.7.2 Multiple Security Vulnerabilities) but has been given its own record to better document it.
