TwinCAT Scope is prone to a heap-based buffer-overflow vulnerability because it fails to properly validate user-supplied input.

An attacker may exploit this issue to execute arbitrary code in the context of the affected application. Failed exploit attempts will likely result in a denial-of-service condition.

TwinCAT Scope 2.9.0.226 is vulnerable; other versions may also be affected.
