Multiple Siemens SIMATIC Products DLL Loading Arbitrary Code Execution Vulnerability

Multiple Siemens SIMATIC Products are prone to a vulnerability that lets attackers execute arbitrary code.

An attacker can exploit this issue by enticing a legitimate user to use the vulnerable application to open a file from a network share location which contains a specially crafted Dynamic Link Library (DLL) file.

Successful exploits will compromise the application in the context of the currently logged-in user.

The following Siemens SIMATIC Products are vulnerable:

Siemens SIMATIC PCS 7 versions 7.1 SP3 and prior
Siemens SIMATIC STEP 7 versions prior to 5.5 SP1

Attackers must trick a user into opening a file on a remote WebDAV or SMB share to exploit this issue.
