Discussion

IBM Lotus Sametime CVE-2012-3308 HTML Injection Vulnerability

IBM Lotus Sametime is prone to an HTML-injection vulnerability because it fails to properly sanitize user-supplied input.

Successful exploits will allow attacker-supplied HTML and script code to run in the context of the affected browser, potentially allowing the attacker to steal cookie-based authentication credentials or to control how the site is rendered to the user. Other attacks are also possible.

IBM Lotus Sametime versions 8.0.2, 8.5.1, 8.5.1.1, 8.5.2, and 8.5.2.1 are vulnerable.
