Discussion

IBM Informix Dynamic Server CVE-2012-3334 Remote Stack Buffer Overflow Vulnerability

IBM Informix Dynamic Server is prone to a remote stack-based buffer-overflow vulnerability because it fails to perform adequate boundary-checks on user-supplied data before copying it into an insufficiently sized buffer.

An attacker can exploit this issue to execute arbitrary code within the context of the affected server. Failed exploit attempts will result in a denial-of-service condition.

Informix IDS 11.50 and 11.70 are vulnerable.
