Discussion
Moodle CVE-2013-1833 HTML Injection Vulnerability
Moodle is prone to an HTML-injection vulnerability because it fails to sanitize user-supplied input.
Successful exploits will allow attacker-supplied HTML and script code to run in the context of the affected site, potentially allowing the attacker to steal cookie-based authentication credentials or control how the site is rendered to the user. Other attacks are also possible.
Note: This issue was previously discussed in BID 58660 (Moodle Multiple Remote Security Vulnerabilities), but has been moved to its own record for better documentation.
Moodle versions prior to 2.4.2, 2.3.5, and 2.2.8 are vulnerable.
