Discussion

WebKit CVE-2013-1012 Unspecified Cross Site Scripting Vulnerability

WebKit is prone to an unspecified cross-site scripting vulnerability because it fails to sufficiently sanitize user-supplied input.

An attacker may leverage this issue to execute arbitrary script code in an unsuspecting user's browser in the context of the affected site. This may allow the attacker to steal cookie-based authentication credentials and launch other attacks.

Note: This issue was previously covered in BID 60330 (Apple Safari Prior to 6.0.5 Multiple Security Vulnerabilities), but has been given its own record to better document it.
