Discussion

libmodplug CVE-2013-4234 Multiple Heap Buffer Overflow Vulnerabilities

libmodplug is prone to multiple heap-based buffer-overflow vulnerabilities because it fails to properly bounds check user-supplied input before copying it into an insufficiently sized buffer.

Attackers can exploit these issues to execute arbitrary code within the context of the user running the affected application. Failed attempts will likely cause a denial-of-service condition.

libmodplug 0.8.8.4 is vulnerable; other versions may also be affected.
