Discussion

Adobe ColdFusion CFIDE Directory Cross Site Scripting Vulnerability

Adobe ColdFusion is prone to a cross-site scripting vulnerability because it fails to properly sanitize user-supplied input.

An attacker could exploit this vulnerability to execute arbitrary script code in the context of the affected website. This may allow the attacker to steal cookie-based authentication credentials and to launch other attacks. The directory-traversal vulnerability can be exploited to download the configuration files of the software such as /etc/passwd or boot.ini and obtain administrative credentials.

Adobe ColdFusion 9.0, 9.0.1, 9.0.2, and 10 are vulnerable.
