Advantech WebAccess CVE-2014-0985 Incomplete Fix Stack Based Buffer Overflow Vulnerability
Advantech WebAccess is prone to a stack-based buffer-overflow vulnerability because the application fails to properly bounds-check user-supplied data before copying it into an insufficiently sized buffer.
Note: Specifically, the vulnerability exists due to incomplete fix for CVE-2014-0764 (BID 66718 - Advantech WebAccess CVE-2014-0764 Stack-Based Buffer Overflow Vulnerability).
Attackers can exploit this issue to execute arbitrary code within the context of the application. Failed exploit attempts will likely cause a denial-of-service condition.
Advantech WebAccess 7.2 is vulnerable; other versions may also be affected.
