Discussion

Advantech WebAccess CVE-2014-0992 Stack Based Buffer Overflow Vulnerability

Advantech WebAccess is prone to a stack-based buffer-overflow vulnerability because the application fails to properly bounds-check user-supplied data before copying it into an insufficiently sized buffer.

Attackers can exploit this issue to execute arbitrary code within the context of the application. Failed exploit attempts will likely cause a denial-of-service condition.

Advantech WebAccess 7.2 is vulnerable; other versions may also be affected.
